another year...

Four years ago today Shaun & I were married. Wow…time has flown but at the same time we have been through so much it seems like we’ve had a lifetime together. I am so thankful to the Lord for allowing us to see today…through the good times AND the bad, He has shown us how to love each other.

Shaun, I am so thankful that God lead us together. You are even MORE of an amazing man then the one I married. I love you SO much and can’t imagine sharing this journey with anyone else.

  1. Happy anniversary! We missed you at our family gathering. Have a wonderful Christmas season – especially the holiday with your family!
I mailed you a Christmas card (looked up the address on the internet) but I’m not so sure I mailed it to the right place – the address your parents showed me didn’t look familiar.

  2. Congratulations, Shaun and Kristal!
Been thinking about you today! It’s been a sunny, cold day like your wedding day was. The outdoor pictures don’t show it, but we were all shivering up
at the Monastery. You’re right, it seems like a long time ago, but also it has
gone so fast! The Lord has been good! Continue to walk in His ways and trust Him for the future! Love, Mom and Dad

  3. congratulations! we are only a week away from our #3…it’s married life wonderful!!! :)

We are excited to see how God is using you and bringing out your special gifts. You’re turning out to be amazing parents, evidenced by how adorable little Natalie is. See you Saturday. Love you, Mom and Dad Sawyer

  6. I checked today to see if you would have posted an anniversay special and I was glad to see you did. Congratulations and may God continue to bless you.

Annabelle Joy

Our dear friends, Nate & Debra (from California) had their baby girl on Friday night! She was 12 days overdue (phew! and I thought 8 days was bad) and Debra did amazing. Annabelle Joy was born at 10:12pm on December 15th and weighed in at 7 lbs 5 ounces and she was 20 inches long. Congrats you guys…we CANNOT wait to meet her and hold her. Oh, and Natalie can’t wait to meet her new best friend!!!

Still here...

I think our blog is eligible for the worst blogger in December. Sorry guys…things have been crazy. And for me NOT to blog means that things have been REALLY crazy. I have spoken to my parents for about 5 minutes in the last week and a half and that’s really abnormal.

We’ve been busy, but having fun. I started my new job last week and I am really enjoying it. I am so glad I found a job that I enjoy, especially since I need to sacrifice time away from Natalie during the day. I am almost done training for the position and I am enjoying the people I work with. Thanks for your encouragement and prayers.

Natalie is getting SO big! Last week she figured out how to stand up on her own by pulling up on things. Her favorite time to do this is right after we put her in her crib (when she’s supposed to go to sleep!) but she thinks it’s just so fun to pull herself up and see if she can figure out what we’re up to. Too cute! And she’s crawling/scooting around and getting into everything. I really have to baby-proof this house…the other day I was on the computer and I turned around and realized she had pulled the cable out of the printer and had it in her mouth while the other end was still plugged into the wall. Lovely Kristal. Good job on that one.

She is just sooo precious. The other day Shaun had just walked in the door from work as I was getting her up from her nap. She was still tired and the light was too bright for her so she had her eyes closed but I knew she was awake. I laid her on her change table and she said, “Mamamamama.” And I said, “Yes, sweet pea, Mama’s right here.” Then she said, “Dadadadada.” And I said, “Yes, Daddy’s here too.” It was too cute.

Another thing I’ve been busy with is my Christmas gifts. We’re trying to be creative with our gifts to save $$$ this year so I’ve been working on them in order to get them done in time for Christmas. I can’t say what I’m doing because my dear family reads this blog…=)

We’ve had more Christmas parties then you can imagine! Last week we had three and this week we have one tonight plus last night was a birthday party. This last week Shaun lead worship for our church’s college/youth service and I helped…that was fun but it made for a CRAZY weekend with working, practice, and the service.

I’ve taken some really cute pictures of Natalie lately which I will have to post later cause we need to get ready for this party tonight.

Oh, and there are some new pictures in our web album that I posted around Natalie’s month-birthday. Check them out!

Hopefully there are a few readers left…let me know you’re still out there! =)

  7. don’t feel bad for not blogging more often…the worst is when you blog because you feel like you have to. december is ALWAYS crazy. just enjoy your very first christmas as a family of 3!

  8. I’m still here! And hey…you are a working woman and a working mom…let’s just say that you definitly have your hands full! You made me laugh with the whole Natalie-cable in her mouth-thing! That’s what lifes about…rolling with it all! I also need your mailing address if you could email it to me? (mikeandkallie@gmail.com will work). Love you girl! and hey…Merry Christmas!

  9. Hey Kristal,

Sounds like you are keeping busy! I’m glad to hear that your new job is going well so far. We missed you guys yesterday at the Christmas party at Aunt Ella’s :( You must be getting SO excited to spend Christmas with your family in Mexico – hope you have a wonderful time. We love you guys.

  1. She crawled? Oh boy, that’s exciting new freedom for her and “watch
out, Mom and Dad!” So neat to see her learn and grow! She’ll be a real pro by the time we see her, probably almost walking!! (sigh) Grandparenting seems to fly by even faster that parenting did!
    Have fun at the game!

  2. awwwwe. It is SO FUN when you go somewhere for a moment and suddenly this little person is right behind you peeking that bitty face around the corner.

even better when they aren’t crying mamamamamama (though it is still cute)

    It does go by fast.

  3. the game is ON!!! Yay for milestones. The time frame from 8 months to 1 year always flies… hold on to your hats, before you know it you will be planning your first princess party!!!

  4. way to go natalie!!!! :)

  5. Yay…how exciting. Watch out…you’re in for a whole other world. It gets pretty crazy once their walking. Now Cole for sure runs…at full speed. It’s hilarious to see him “Go, go, go” as he says. :) Hope you had fun at the Suns game.

  6. Woohoo, Natalie! Now we’ve really gotta suntan with our eyes open in Mexico! Can’t wait to see you soon!

  7. Wow, that’s exciting…she’s growing up so fast. How’s the new job going?? Hope all is well.

    Love you.

Happy American Thanksgiving!

Sorry for the lack of bloggage…life has been BUSY lately and there is much to post!

Right now we are in California celebrating American Thanksgiving with Shaun’s family! We flew out early yesterday (up at 4:45am…FAR too early) and we were able to help set up the dinner. Shaun’s grandparents and his uncle’s family drove up and we were able to be together. It was nice…very relaxing. We are here in California just until Saturday morning ’cause Shaun’s back to work tomorrow…short trip but we are glad to be with family for this holiday!

Things I am thankful for:

  • a wonderful husband who loves me for me!

  • our beautiful baby girl who we are SO absolutely in love with!

  • our new little family…

  • our family and friends who love, support, and encourage us!
  • our home!
  • Shaun’s job — it’s great having a happy husband!
  • our health!
  • a sovereign God who loves us and cares about every detail of our lives…He knows what is best for us!
  • my new job…

Yes, you heard me right. I have another NEW job. As of Monday, the 4th, I start my new part-time job as a bank teller. We really have had to come to grips with the fact that we cannot make it on just Shaun’s income right now and I am having a hard time getting enough consistent shows working with Pampered Chef. So after much prayer and research we decided that it was time I started to look for work outside the home. So a couple weeks ago I put my resume out there and this past Monday I had 2 interviews with a major bank out here. I found out after both interviews that I was offered both jobs–it was up to me to decide which one I preferred. I chose the one that is closer to Danielle, our wonderful friend who has offered to watch Natalie while I work.

I will be working 20 hours per week–about 10 of which Natalie will be with Danielle, and the other 10 will be on Friday and Saturday while Shaun is home. This is a struggle for us because this means that Shaun and I won’t get one full day off together. But this is a sacrifice we need to make right now and we have come to that realization.

A lot of you know my desire to be a full time stay-at-home mommy…I believe one day that dream will be fulfilled but for now this is how it is. And I really am okay with it. I am excited to get out into a schedule and I am so glad that I get to do something that I enjoy (I was a bank teller for a year in BC and I LOVED it!). I am thankful that God has provided a position quickly. He knows what we need. The position pays well and offers benefits which will save us an additional $200 a month. Wonderful.

So that’s what has been going on!

I have more to post about my trip to Canada…I know, I’ve been travelling too much. My suitcase is well worn.

We are about to head out on a walk with Shaun’s parents so I will have to post more later.
