Rested

Sorry it's been FOREVER...just got back last night from a wonderful time in Palm Springs with my parents and Ben. It was so fun to see them and spend some time together with them. We spent a lot of time at the pool (anyone surprised?) and the boys did some golfing. Mom and I bought out Target, and then we also went to some discount stores like Ross (yes, we're cheap, but you can find some great deals!). We ate some yummy meals out...at Olive Garden, Cheesecake Factory, Applebee's, and Marie Callender's. We also went out one night and saw "The Interpreter"...good movie!

Today is back to work (yipee!) and the day has been good so far.

Okay...is anyone else SO surprised that Scott is STILL on American Idol...and in the top 3 of all things. My goodness...what is
America thinking?!?

Hanging out at the airport with my scruffy husband! =)

Agua Dulce Airport/Park

Great Husband, Great Weekend

Yay! Shaun is finally feeling better. He is back to talking quite regularly and is completely off the medication, with the exception of a Extra-Strength Tylenol here and there. Praise the Lord!!!

We had a really great weekend together! On Saturday night we went to church together, then afterwards hung out and watched the "Lord of the Rings: Return of the King," which Shaun had seen, but I had not. Let me tell you, I am not very good with the whole Lord-of-the-Rings-Lingo (if you know what I mean)...I get the cities confused with the names of the humans/elves/dwarves/hoppits/orgs. I think like 30 times during the course of the movie I asked Shaun, "Who's Gondor?" He was like..."That's the land, Bud, not a person." Oops. Oh well, I try. I actually liked the endings...and I say endings because I kept thinking the movie had ended, when in fact there were 10 more scenes left. Weird.

Sunday morning I was awoken to the smells of bacon and sausage...Shaun woke me up with breakfast in bed (this is where the "Great Husband" part of this title comes in!). So sweet! He has never done this before, so I was completely shocked. He made me pancakes (which were really good), bacon, sausage, and eggs. What a guy! He had had a restless night's sleep and was inspired to do something nice for me. After that we went to our Young Married's Sunday School class, and afterwards went out to Baja Fresh for lunch with friends. Yummy.

In the afternoon we drove up to
Agua Dulce Airport, which is this tiny airport just northeast of where we live. Agua Dulce ("Sweetwater" in Spanish) is a tiny town with farms and ranches--some of which are multi-million dollar homes, I'm sure. Shaun likes going up there to watch the little planes take off and land. The airport has a really cute grill restaraunt there, as well as picnic benches and a really nice lawn area. We hung out there and I got to work on my tan. It was very nice to be outside and relax.

That's pretty much it...it was just a great weekend with Shaun, who I am SOOOO thankful is FINALLY better. This week my family comes down...so more fun times to come!

Bad Nurse

So, my Bud's still not feeling too good. Actually, today he is much happier and not feeling the "terrible" he was the last few days. I made him some eggs today, and that made his tummy happy. He's feeling good enough right now to sit downstairs and watch "Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring" and eat an orange popsicle.

Man, I would be such a terrible nurse--not that I am mean and unsympathetic! In fact, just the opposite. I am way too sympathetic for people who are sick and get too emotionally involved in trying to make them feel better. I think every 5 minutes these past few days I have been at Shaun's side saying...

  • "How do you feel?"
  • "Do you need anything?"
  • "Do you need some water?...juice?...yogurt?...popsicle?...ice cream?...chicken broth?"
  • "Want some Percocet?"
  • "Want some Tylenol with Codine?"
  • "Have you taken your Omoxycillin?"
  • "Do you need a nap?"
  • "Are you feeling better?"
  • "Does your throat hurt?"
  • "How does your stomach feel?"
  • "Are you gonna barf?...Please don't barf!"
  • "ARE YOU BETTER YET???"

Poor Shaun! Please GET WELL SOON!

MISSING: Parts of my Husband's Body

As of today, my husband is officially missing his tonsils! No, he is not 5 years old--he is 26! It is very rare for doctor's to remove tonsils as an adult, but Shaun has had so many problems with his throat and tonsils that this doctor finally said he'd do it. So...we'll see how it goes. Hopefully this will solve the problem!

I HATE it when Shaun is sick...I feel so helpless. We just got back from the hospital about an hour ago and I just gave him a bit of yogurt and some Tylenol with Codine. I really, really, really hope he does not throw-up! I am such a wimp when it comes to that. Please pray for Shaun, that he has a quick healing, and also for me, as I care for him! I really need patience right now and need to remember that "this too shall pass." Right?

Amazing Race 7

Is anyone else upset about Brian & Greg getting kicked off the Amazing Race??? HUGE bummer. They were my favorite team! Who do we cheer for now???

Shaun & I almost peed our pants when Brian & Greg showed up at the pit stop in their bathing suits! They have great attitudes and we are sorry to see them go!

"Hi from Paet!" This is my nephew, Paeton Ben Uganecz--what a little man! Julene just sent me this picture a few days ago, and I just had to publish it.

Hello Again...

Sorry it's been a bit. Shaun & I have had a busy/hard week but God is definitely working! I am so thankful to all of our friends and family who have supported us during this time. We really appreciate your prayers and dedication to us!

Arg...back to work this week. Last week I didn't work much cause Shaun was off for Spring Break. We tried to do a couple of fun things like go see a taping of 24 Inside which is show that airs online, and we would have been able to meet one of the actors from the show and discuss the episode. 24 is Shaun's all-time favorite TV show--he gets so excited about watching it!!! We ended up following the directions the show gave us, but it took us a route that took us 2x what it should have if we had actually known the location! We showed up too late...bummer. Oh well, we're on the VIP list for the next taping in a couple of weeks.

Tonight Shaun is out in
Azusa doing some song-writing with the band, so I'm home alone. I just went out to find a new swimsuit and FINALLY found one! I spent more $$$ then I would like to, but at least I found one that looks okay on this body of mine! Also, it is reversible (one side pink, one side brown) and it is a tankini, so there are 4 different options as far as how it can be worn. I guess it's worth the money then, right? The reason for buying a new swimsuit, you might ask? Well, my parents and brother, Ben, are coming out here in a couple of weeks and we're going to Palm Springs ( I am SOOOOO excited to see them), and I need to look cute at the pool, you know!

Not only am I excited to see my family, but they are bringing with them a very special item...my piano. Oh, how I miss my piano! Soon it will fill the empty space in our family room, and I can once again be inspired to write music and somehow express all the feelings that are pent up in my soul. I am, again, SOOOOO excited.

So, that's what's up at this moment. I think I'll go do some laundry and tidy up the house before Shaun gets home. Maybe I'll work on my crocheting a bit too while I watch American Idol. Speaking of American Idol...who is your favorite? Mine is Carrie Underwood...do you think Simon is right, and that she will win? Let me know, I'd love to hear your opinions.
