Baby Sawyer at 28 Weeks!!!

Here's a picture of me taken only 15 minutes ago...I'm wearing my new Christmas sweater and cords from my parents, as well as some great hot-pink earrings Julene sent me from Indonesia!

Today Baby Sawyer is 28 weeks...so crazy. Last night I dreamt our baby was here...at first it was a baby boy but then half way through it turned into a girl. Oh my...only in a dream (or nightmare)! Needless to say, I woke up this morning and freaked out because it seems soooo close now and I don't feel quite ready. Sometime in the next 10-14 weeks we'll be parents. Crazy.

Update

Well I haven't really updated you on our Christmas...we are having a fabulous time up here, just relaxing and spending some good quality time with friends & family!

Like I said earlier, we arrived early on Boxing Day, and in the evening we had our family Christmas, minus Chris, Julene, Tehya, and Paeton. It sure was strange not having them here with us...our first Christmas in BC without them here. It is our tradition to take a picture of us kids on this couch every Christmas, and this year we took this one because we're missing two very important people (and their kids). I'm not quite sure how we would have all fit on this couch if they were here--although I'm sure all of us would sacrifice the squishiness just so we could be together...

I have been trying to post more pictures from our Christmas together, but for some reason blogger isn't cooperating today. Oh well...

On the 27th we slept in, and my mom made her tasty waffles with vanilla pudding & raspberry sauce for brunch. In the late afternoon we had Christmas with the Janzen side (my mom's family) at my Oma's house. The meal was DELICIOUS...so tasty. We had a fun gift exchange with them--I got a DVD and Shaun got a Canucks mug.

On the 28th my cousin Rose came over with her husband, Jeff, and their three girls. I hadn't seen them in 2 years--so crazy. Rose is one of my close friends and we are the same age...like I said they have THREE girls. So CRAZY. They are adorable...Sarah is 4, Abby is 2, and Julia is 5 months old. They were very well behaved and really enjoyed playing in my parent's playhouse downstairs! It was so nice to see them. In the evening we went with Ben & Kari to the Vancouver Canucks game!!! SOOOO fun. Shaun had never been to GM Place, so it was so fun to show him the Vancouver team spirit...so much better than those lame So Cal "fans" (if you can even call them that!). The first period was slow...Canucks were down 2 to 0, but they ended up coming back in the 2nd and 3rd periods to win 4 to 3. It was so awesome!

Yesterday (Thursday the 29th) my mom and I went to Thyme Maternity to do some Christmas exchanges, and I left with 2 new pairs of pants and 2 new shirts. So fun...then in the evening we had dessert with Heather & Matt. Heather (on my links) and I were best friends all through elementary school and it's so cool that we are still friends today. We have such a history together. Matt & Shaun got along well too, which is cool to see.

Today we've done some running around Abby...Dad took us to show us some new townhouse/condos that are being built, and we also went to House of James. I had a eye doctor's appointment and finally got some new contacts. Tonight we are going to have a date night with Mom & Dad. Dinner is almost ready...we're having salmon with sun-dried tomatos and garlic on top. Maybe we'll watch a movie and just relax. Fun times. Good to be with my family.

That's all for now...

Canadian Christmas

Well, we're here safely in Abbotsford! We arrived yesterday morning after a very early rise (up at 4am!) and got into Vancouver by mid-morning. We had our family Christmas last night, which was fun...I'll blog more later.

We're off to my Oma's house for Janzen family gathering tonight...it will be nice to see the extended family.

Well that's all for now...thought I'd just give a quick update!

Come Thou Long Expected Jesus...

-- by Sandra McCracken and Derek Webb

Come Thou long expected Jesus
Born to set Thy people free
From our fears and sins release us
Let us find our rest in Thee

Israel’s strength and consolation
Hope of all the earth Thou art
Dear desire of every nation
Joy of every longing heart

Come thou long awaited Emmanuel

Born Thy people to deliver
Born a child and yet a King
Born to reign in us forever
Now Thy gracious Kingdom bring

By Thy own eternal Spirit
Rule in all our hearts alone
By Thy all-sufficient merit
Raise us to Thy glorious throne

Hallelujah
Come Thou long awaited Emmanuel
Come, Emmanuel

Yay! It's Christmas Eve...we are so excited! This morning we are relaxing around the house...we just finished a tasty breakfast and now we need to get ready for our drive down to Laguna Hills. We are headed down there for Christmas with Shaun's grandparents and his Uncle & Aunt, and their three boys. I think we're having a turkey dinner and just a relaxed day.

Tomorrow we are spending the day at home with Shaun's parents. We'll probably be up semi-early (not before 8am) to open gifts! Then we'll relax together and have a tasty dinner together. Shaun's grandparents may also drive up from Irvine for the day. We also need to pack tomorrow, because on Monday morning at 5am we leave to go to Abbotsford!!!!!!!!

We hope you have a wonderful Christmas with all your friends and loved ones. I pray that we are all reminded of the reason for the season--how a little baby was born to become our King and to save us from our sins. Thank you, Jesus!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

me and my bud...

For my Bud...

Shaun,

Can you believe it's been 3 years since I walked down the aisle and became your wife? December 21, 2002 was the happiest day of my life...

God has been so faithful! He has pulled us through the tough times and used them to make us stronger--to make us one.

You are a wonderful husband! This last year it has been incredible to see how God has directed us and led us to make the decisions we have...and He has blessed us. Thank you for leading our family, and for showing you love me through the sacrifices you have made and continue to make. Thank you for making it easy to trust you.

I am so proud to be your wife and the mother of your baby...I am so excited to spend the rest of my life with you and watch how God will continue to be faithful to us.

I can honestly say that I love you today more than I did three years ago...

I STILL do.

Love from, Your Bud

time for an update...

Wow...I didn't realize it's been a week since I last posted. Maybe it's because I had a few big posts from last weekend...oh well, here I am...

Last week was busy. Can't remember exactly what we did...Shaun worked a lot and I worked and enjoyed finishing off our Christmas shopping! This week is final's week for him. Today he had to hand in his notebook and some other homework which I "helped" him do while he was working all last week and over the weekend. I was busy. But so was he...good thing I can help! He also had his written exam today, and then he has his practical exam on Tuesday and Thursday. Wednesday he has off, which is GREAT because it's our 3rd anniversary!!! Yay...finally a day off for him where he doesn't have to work OR go to school. Wonderful!

My new favorite store is Gap Maternity...oh I just love it. They put a new one in our mall and I happily went with Shaun to pick out some Christmas presents for me. I don't know if he bought them or not (though I sure HOPE he did!) but I did pick out what I like. SOOOO exciting!!! Now I'll hopefully have some cute, warm maternity clothes that make me feel beautiful that I can wear while up in BC in a week! We leave in a week today! I am soooooo terribly excited. My mom already sent me a picture of home with the Christmas decorations up. So lovely...can't wait to see it in person!

Later this afternoon we're going out for coffee with our some of our best buds Nate & Deb to have a little Christmas thingy with them. We're going to give them Christmas gifts, and I am so excited! I'm not sure we'll see them much until after the holidays, so it will be nice to spend some time with them.

CONGRATULATIONS to my dear friend Aimee & her hubby Lance...who found out they are expecting TWINS!!! What a blessing...times two. They are due in June...so our babies will only be 3 months apart. How fun...too bad we don't live closer!

Speaking of baby things...I must be getting into the "nesting" stage. Lately I have been worrying how we're going to get everything all put together before the baby gets here! I guess it kinda freaks me out that once we get home from Canada we only have about 2 1/2 months until his/her arrival--that is, if he/she arrives on time. So far we have bought...well, nothing. We did go to Babies-R-Us though a few weeks ago. I can't remember if I already blogged about this--there goes my pregnancy brain. I guess I could look...nope, I didn't. Anyways, we picked out all this lovely stuff that we only dream of getting...I know it's not realistic but it's fun. Shaun & I have decided we won't set up too much baby stuff while we're living with his folks. We're going to wait to set up the nursery until we move into our own place. Maybe that's why I feel so unsettled...I really am thankful for our situation, it's just hard because I know that most people by now have everything (nursery) all set to go. And here's me...freaking out because we haven't spent one single dollar on this kid! We have, however, received a few lovely gifts...a few outfits and many cute blankets. Plus 2 cute stuffed animals. My mom reminded me that you don't need a lot when you have a baby...just diapers, a place to sleep, and of course, LOTS of love...which we have...

Well, that's it for now. I need to get back to work and hopefully make a little bit of money before we take off for 2 weeks!

God Bless...and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Progressive Dinner/Christmas Party

Saturday night we had our Sunday School's annual Christmas Party/Progressive Dinner. I wasn't planning on going because Shaun had to work, but last minute I decided to go. I tagged along with Nate & Deb for the ride...it turned out to be a good evening! At Alan & Sarah's house we had appetizers...tasty. Then we went to Josh & Jenny's house for dinner salad.

Here's Cole (Mike & Renelle's cutie) with baby Davis (John & Julie's cutie)...

Finally we ended up at Sean & Kathy's house (our group leader's) for a tasty stuffed chicken dinner. There we also had our white elephant gift exchange, which is always a hoot!

Nate & Deb opened a box full of LOOFAH's...funniest gift ever! It was actually passed around a few times. Who doesn't want a box of loofah's that will last you a lifetime?

This hat has been passed down as a white elephant gift for the last few years. Last year Shaun & I were the proud owner's and it has been sitting in our closet since...lovely. This year no one could remember who had it so I surprised everyone by wrapping it in a small silver box (stuffed it!)...of course John and everyone was killing themselves laughing when it showed up again!

John & Julie brought this as their white elephant gift...and Jenny was pleased to be the one to bring it home! Funny story behind this one...a few months ago our class did a one day missions thingy to Mexico and John bought this as a joke for Julie. He thought he was only paying $3 for it, but really he paid $30. Our Sunday school class has now dubbed it "The Fertility Crest" after we noticed that the man was grabbing the woman's breast. We'll see if it will works for Josh and Jenny as they're one of the few no-kids-yet-and-not-for-awhile couples in our class! I'm sure this will be another gift that will appear next year!

Gingerbread Party!

On Friday afternoon (after my doctor's appt) Rachyl, Kristin, and I had our 2nd annual Gingerbread party! It was super fun, and easy. We went to Micheal's and purchased the pre-made kids that include all the icing, gingerbread already made, and all the candy. All we had to do was mix the icing with water and assemble. It was really fun...just another fun Christmasy activity!

We were trying to use my camera timer to take this picture, so it's not the best...sorry Rach, I have a feeling that you won't like this one (even though I think you're BEAUTIFUL) but I'm the fat pregnant one, and this is MY blog...so I get to determine which picture I look the best in, and therefore blog that one!!! Boy, I sure sound like a moody pregnant lady, huh?

Besides...you look really cute in this one!!! I have great friends...did I mention they're single...for all you cute single boys who are interested. =)

Surprise Ultrasound

Today I went in for my doctor's visit (regular check-up) and Rachyl & Kristin came in. My doctor was surprised they were there and said, "So I guess you want to see the baby!"...so she took out the ultrasound machine and they got to see Baby Sawyer. You should have seen their faces--they were so excited. Baby was moving around a ton (even though I couldn't feel it) but he/she did show his/her face a lot! This is my favorite picture...the baby's face straight on. The doctor says everything looks great! Praise the Lord!

Narnia Night...

Last night was soooo awesome! Our friend Deb's mom works for Disney, so she got us all tickets to the premier showing of "The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe" at the
El Capitan Theater. So we got to see it before opening night, and for FREE...how cool is that?

We left at 3pm (both Shaun & Nate had the day off work) and headed down to Hollywood and Highland, where they have the Kodak Theater (the Academy Awards are held there) and a large outdoor shopping plaza. We shopped around there for awhile--well, Deb & I did while Shaun & Nate waited outside, and then we headed over to California Pizza Kitchen for dinner. After dinner we strolled over to the El Capitan Theater, which is a famous old theater in Hollywood--they do a lot of premiers there (especially for Disney). We met Deb's family there and went straight into the theater. The theater was all decked out with Chronicles of Narnia statues--they even had costumes and made-up heads of the creatures from the movie. Before the show started, they had an organist (who came up out of the floor) and played amazing Christmas songs/Disney tunes. As the movie was starting, it began to SNOW in the theater. Yes, it was hysterical because almost everyone was covered in fake snow foam before the movie started!

The movie was AWESOME...now, I read the book in 6th grade so I didn't remember a ton and I was a bit concerned that I would be confused by all the characters and the story line. But I loved it! VERY well done and the computer animation was unbelievable. I was also amazed at the parallel between Aslan and Christ--I got teary eyed a number of times thinking about and being reminded of the sacrifice Christ has made--for me. And the fact that this story is "going Hollywood". I almost feel like saying, "Do you REALIZE the story you're putting out there?" Totally a work of God...

I HIGHLY recommend going to see this movie...even if you are not familiar with the books I really believe you will enjoy it!

Not much planned for this weekend...Shaun's working. This afternoon Rachyl & Kristin are coming over to decorate gingerbread houses (yay!) and then tomorrow I'll probably try to finish off my Christmas shopping since Christmas is ONLY 2 WEEKS AWAY!!!

Today Baby Sawyer is 25 weeks...I have my 24 week check up in an hour (yes, even though I'm 25 weeks--the dr. was out of town) and Rachyl & Kristin are going to accompany me, hopefully to hear the baby's heartbeat! Have a great weekend...

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Yesterday we got our Christmas Tree!!! YAYYY!!! So much fun...except for the fact that I had a hard time bending down to decorate the lower branches. I think that the tree turned out pretty good, especially considering we have a bunch of cheap-o decorations (from the dollar store) and a bunch of ribbon on it.

After we were done decorating the tree, I asked Shaun to put the Christmas tree skirt on for me (since I couldn't bend all that way down)...so he did, while doing a hula dance...oh, what a silly boy. Looks good on him though, don't you think?

While we were in the family room decorating, we had a knock on our door. It was a little boy. He said, "Umm...excuse me...my dad and I were just driving by and we saw an opossum run into your garage." Soooo funny...so Shaun and his dad had to chase it out of the garage. Here is our neighborhood opossum’s butt...

On Saturday I decorated took out all our other Christmas decorations and decked out our family room. I had on the Hallmark Janette Oke series while I did that--"Love Comes Softly", "Love's Enduring Promise", and the new one, "Love's Long Journey". Shaun was at work...which is how I got away with watching such girly movies! 'Twas a good weekend (no there's a Christmasy word for you!)...only 20 days until Christmas!!!

Baby Sawyer at 24 Weeks

Today Baby Sawyer is 24 weeks...which means only 16 more weeks until it's estimated arrival into this world. Wow...only 16 more weeks until I become a mommy!

I've had a hard time falling asleep in the morning after Shaun gets up for school (he gets up at 4:30am). I've tried to fall back asleep, but all I can feel is kick...kick...kick...and it reminds me of this miracle inside me. How can I sleep when I'm smiling every 30 seconds?

Life is good...Shaun is busy with work. Tonight he's working and tomorrow night too. I'm going to APU's Celebrate Christmas concert tonight with some friends. Should be fun, although it might be strange to see a bunch of recognizable faces from the past. I'm sure I'll get a lot of hands on the belly tonight.

Have a great weekend...

food and other things...

Yes, this has been the excitement of my last few days...we picked up some Christmas oranges (mandarin oranges) at the grocery store. Down here they call them "Clementine's" (I believe Heidi has already blogged about this...sorry for the repeat for those of you who are faithful readers of Heidi's blog!). Anyways, apparently my baby LOVES Christmas mandarin oranges because I have been eating no less than 4 a day. I have already had my 4 today and my mouth is now drooling for a 5th...It's weird because I haven't craved Oranges or orange juice at all during this pregnancy, I think due to the fact that they are so acidic. But boy, these are GREAT...I just can't get enough.

This afternoon I had coffee with my good friend Deb. We went and sat down at Starbucks and I had a tasty Pumpkin Spice Steamed Milk. Boy, that was good too!

Shaun's been coming home lately with all sorts of baking/pastries...it's a miracle I don't weigh 300 pounds! I must say we currently have more carbs in this household than we have in the last 5 months all together (Shaun's mom is a South Beach diet fan--aka low carb). It's a little overwhelming to have so many different breads and pastry's to choose from, but he sure is doing a great job! He loves baking, which I think is cute!

It's been cold here lately...well not as cold as good ol' Abby (which has already had it's first snow of the season)! But it's been cold enough to turn the heater on during the day...which means it's officially cold in So Cal. It hasn't been raining--so we have clear blue skies and crisp air--which I love.

Work's been good...especially due to the fact that it's slow period.

That's all for now...I'm off to sit on the couch with my dear hubby and eat another mandarin orange...or two...

thanksgiving

I apologize for my lack of blogging...part of me feels like I don't have a lot to blog about, but really I do. We had a great weekend celebrating Thanksgiving and it was just overall relaxing! Thursday was our actual big dinner--we had over Shaun's grandparents and his uncle & aunt (and three of their four boys) for the day. Kathy (Shaun's mom) and I made the dinner--well, she made most of it and I did helper stuff. I did (however) make yams with walnuts & marshmellows, jello, and a pumpkin chocolate chip loaf. Shaun also contributed his tasty tarts (lemon, chocolate/raspberry, and poached pear) as well as bread. He did a great job.

Friday we relaxed...slept in and caught up on our Tivo which has been ignored lately (not necessarily a bad thing)! My friend Kirstin came out for the night, and we went (also with Kathy) to see Pride & Prejudice. SO good. I highly recommend it!!!

Shaun's been busy this weekend helping out at church with Advent. Our church puts on a family advent event every year (4 nights over the weekend) where you go have dinner and dessert, and then you make some sort of advent craft together. I think that's the extent of it--I've never actually been before (although I'd like to)! Shaun's been helping out in the kitchen, which has been fun for him. Tomorrow night is the last night of that.

Today, after church, I got some Christmas shopping done. Now I just need to get together a big box of these items to ship off to Indonesia for the sis and her fam. I wish I could be a fly on the wall when they receive their parcels!

I just got done baking some bisquits, and Shaun's mom is almost done making her famous "Turkey Soup" from the leftovers from Thursday. Should be TASTY.

This week it's back to normal work for me, school and work for Shauner. I think I'll put up Christmas decorations this week, and then this weekend we'll put up our tree. Only 4 more weeks until CHRISTMAS!!!! And for all you BC-ers...we'll be in Abbotsford December 26th until January 6th. We'd love to see you.

Sorry about the boring post...just wanted to let you all know I'm still alive and kicking...well, the baby's really the one that's kicking these days. Makes me smile =).

Sunday Surprise Date!!!

On Sunday Shaun took me on our surprise date...all week I had been trying to figure out where he was going to take me. And usually I can figure it out--well, I will at least have thought about it as an option. But he SURPRISED me...I am so excited, and he was too. At first I thought we were going to Disneyland because we were headed down the I-5 in the same direction...I was kinda hoping we weren't going to D-land because I didn't think it would be wise to spend $120 for the both of us to walk around D-land (because I can't go on many of the rides in my condition). Instead, we got off 2 exits after Disneyland Drive, on Katella, and there I saw "Arrowhead Pond"...

...and THAT'S when I figured it out!!! He was taking me to a Vancouver Canucks game vs. the Mighty Ducks. SOOOOOOO cool. Now, not only was that super cool, but we sat 4 ROWS FROM THE FRONT, right on the center line, right behind the benches of the Canucks and Ducks. I seriously got tears in my eyes as we walked down to our seats because I couldn't believe he was spoiling me so much. WHAT A GUY.... We had a great time, and the Canucks even won 3-2. It was awesome.

Here we are...the view from our seats...

Baby Sawyer's first Canucks game...

Team picture in the Duck's Penalty Box (the ref's were Penalty Happy)

Another view from our seats...don't I have a GREAT husband?!??!!!???

baby stuff and a good week

Well, it's been a good week...work has been CRAZY busy, which is so unusual for this time of year. God has been faithful and is providing for us. We are SO thankful for that! On top of that Shaun's getting paid (not much, but he's getting paid) for his work at the Country Club--so that is another huge blessing. He worked Tuesday and Thursday of this week, plus he works tonight and tomorrow. He's a bit tired, but he is enjoying it!

Last night's adventure--the power went out! This is the first time since I've been in California that the power has gone out! And it was out for 6 hours!!! Crazy...apparently it was planned outage, but they failed to notify us. Good thing we already had candles lit when the power went out! It didn't come back on until 3am...we were dead asleep and suddenly I thought I was in heaven because it was so bright in our room! I guess our bedroom lights had been on before the outage. So that was an adventure!

Today Baby Sawyer is 22 weeks! He/she weighs about a pound (tiny!) and actually looks like a miniature newborn. Baby has been kicking me a lot lately, especially in the evenings when I'm relaxing or going to bed. I can actually feel it from the outside now, and Shaun felt it kick this week, which was awesome! I love feeling baby kick...it puts a smile on my face. Can't wait to meet him/her.

I'd like to take a poll out there...WHOEVER reads this blog (and I know there are a lot of you because I get at least 150-200 page visitors to my page every day!)...I'd like to hear what you think we're having...a boy or a girl, and why. Just curious...if you have a moment...

Like I said earlier, Shaun's working tonight, so I'm home alone (his parents are also going out). I am trying to find someone to hang out with. No such luck yet. Oh well...I really don't mind being alone so I can watch the girly movies I want to!

Oh, another fun thing...Shaun is taking me on a SURPRISE date on Sunday! I have NO idea where or what we are doing, but he has plans and won't tell me! We haven't done something like this in a long time, so I'm really looking forward to spending the day with him. I'll be sure to get a bunch of great pictures and I'll be back with details on Monday.

Blessings to you all...and have a GREAT weekend.

K =)

"This guy seriously needs to buy a vowel!"

We had a great weekend...Friday night I was home alone because Shaun was working late (at the Country Club) and Shaun's parents went out. I really didn't mind...I did my toenails and caught up on a bunch of shows (like "Baby Story") that were left on our Tivo. It was nice just to relax.

Saturday morning we slept in...then Shaun got called into work early, so he left around noon. I left early afternoon to go to the NICHOLE NORDEMAN CONCERT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, I was excited (as if you can't tell)! I went with Rachyl & Kristin, and then my friend Debra from church. Shaun was originally supposed to go, but since he got this new job, he didn't want to ask for it off. Debra was excited to go, although she didn't know who Nichole Nordeman was (so earlier in the week I lent her 2 of my NN CD's for her to MEMORIZE). We met up with Rach & Kristin in Yorba Linda at Mimi's Cafe for dinner. I had turkey dinner...I don't know why, except for the fact that I was seriously craving it!

The concert was AMAZING. Aaron Shust opened for her--I had never heard of him before, but he was great. He is a worship pastor from Atlanta. If you have not heard of him before, I suggest you check him out! On his website he has 3 full songs...my favorite being "My Saviour My God." After Aaron, Nichole came on...yay!! The concert wasn't so much a "concert" but more of a worship time...Nichole is so genuine and she is quite funny. She sang my favorite song..."I Am" as well as "Hold On" which is one of my favorites from her new CD. The last song they ended with was the Doxology. Nichole prefaced the song by saying it was written in the 17th century by some German guy, whose name she was not even going to attempt because "this guy seriously needs to buy a vowel!" It was hysterical. She ended the concert with the whole audience singing the Doxology as they left the stage.

Sunday we went to church, then did our usual hang-out-with-friends over lunch. The afternoon was relaxed...we took a nap and pretty much vegged. It was great. Oh, the last pictures was taken yesterday...I have officially "popped". Finally.

Later.

Meet our BABY...

Today we went in for our big ultrasound! It was AMAZING!!! We got to see our little one rub his/her nose, put his/her hand in it's mouth, punch the wall of the uterus, swim all around, and just overall be really really CUTE!!! We are in awe...WHAT A MIRACLE! We can't believe that there is life inside of me! I was overwhelmed with JOY and tears came down my face. What a beautiful moment...I will NEVER forget.

Our baby's cute little profile...our ultrasound tech said our baby has a "button nose", which was funny because that is excactly what the nurses said of my nose when I was first born!

Baby's profile...baby looks like it's about to suck his/her thumb!

Baby's Spine...SO detailed! What a MIRACLE...

This is the first picture I saw of our baby today...the ultrasound tech pointed out how he/she is grabbing his/her foot!

Baby's hand...giving us a thumb's up!

Baby's Face...this one's kinda creepy! The baby is staring straight at you...looks like a little skeleton...oh, but a cute little skeleton!!!

Baby's legs...knees bent on left, head on right...
Enjoy these...we sure have! =)

Friday Night & 20 Weeks

Yesterday was 20 weeks for Baby Sawyer! I can't believe we are already half way there! It is FLYING by already. However, the other night I had a dream that I was holding our baby in my arms, and I woke up in the morning, bummed, because I wish I could ALREADY hold our little one! I know it will be here soon enough...The baby is kicking a TON these days. It's the weirdest feeling...I love it though. Can't get enough!

Last night Shaun had to work (he started his new job at the Valencia Country Club) so I drove down to Anaheim to meet up with my girlfriends from APU. We had a blast. Although I couldn't go on many rides (due to baby!) we did get in the 50th anniversary fireworks (which were AMAZING!!!) and we also went on Soaring Over California (in California Adventure), Peter Pan, and Pirates of the Caribbean. It was a lot of fun. Those girls are so funny...all of them are in the single/casual dating stage (well, not all of them are dating--right, Kristin?!??!!) but they have all these crazy boy stories! I love hearing about it...especially now that I'm not in that stage of life anymore. I think we also got yelled at at least 3 times by Disney security for being too noisy, standing up on a the moving train around the park, using the "Family Restroom"...ahhh, crazy times.

Here are my girls...Kristin is the one with blonde hair, Christy's in the middle (in both pictures), and Rachyl is the other pretty one in black!

Today Shaun has to work again...yay for me (not!)...I'm not sure what I'm going to do. Maybe hang out with my friend Georgina. Tomorrow I'll be helping Shaun study for his finals, which are all next week.

Have a GREAT weekend, everyone!

trunk or treat

The Trunk or Treat Fall Festival was a blast! There were about 50 cars lined up with their trunks open, and kids came around to each car to collect the candy. First they had to answer a question--either a Bible question or an easy question (based on whether they went to church or not). Then they all got a butt load of candy! It went really well, and was fun, even for us big kids!

As you can see from the picture, I decided not to dress up as a cowgirl, but instead as a TRUCKER DUDE. Yup...it was lovely. It was Shaun's idea...I must say that for a trucker I looked pretty darn cute. However, I felt GI-NORMOUS...Shaun said I had a pot-belly that worked perfectly with the outfit. Lovely. So, what'd ya think???
Maddie was a Bumble Bee--she gets the award for the CUTEST LITTLE GIRL at Trunk or Treat!
Baby Cole (almost 9 months old) was a tiger...or as his Dad, Mike, said "a Liger" for you Napolean Dynamite fans! Cole was ADORABLE!!!
Renelle, Mike, and baby Cole as a Tiger...he wins the award for the CUTEST BABY BOY at Trunk or Treat!
Shauner & I -- yes, Shaun was creative and was a chef...and me with my trucker outfit...and pot-belly to boot!
Deb & Nate--Deb is dressed as a firefighter (Nate's occupation) and Nate as a football coach, which is his other job!

weekend

We had a fun weekend. Friday we were exhausted after Shaun's early morning--yes, it makes me tired too! I did a bit of catchup for work and then in the evening we just watched "Legally Blonde". It was Shaun's idea, can you believe it???!!! Ha ha ha...he's gonna kill me when he sees I've posted it!

Saturday we slept in...wonderful. I cleaned up our bedroom, office, and bathroom, then in the afternoon we went to a high school football game, which our friend Nate coaches for. We stayed for both the Junior Varsity and Varsity games--it was actually a lot of fun despite the fact that I know NOTHING about football!!! After the games we saw a late showing of "The Legend of Zorro" with Nate & Debra.

Sunday we went to church, then out for lunch with friends. Shaun & I drove down to Northridge mall to the Apple store because my ipod has been acting up. We had to leave it there for a few days so they can run some tests on it. For dinner we went out to Buca di Beppo, because Shaun had to write a homework critique on a restaraunt. We had some gift certificates, so it ended up being a great deal.

Right now my parents are travelling to Indonesia to see Chris, Julene, Tehya, and Paeton! They should be in Taiwan right now, and later on today they fly to Jakarta. I am SO excited for them all, but a bit jealous. Sure wish I could see them too.

Alright...that's all for now. Tonight we're off to church for the Fall Festival "Trunk or Treat." Shaun's dressing up as a chef (surprise) and I'm going to be a pregnant cowgirl, minus a cowboy hat, and minus cowboy boots. So really I'll just be a pregnant girl with braids, jeans, and a plaid shirt on. Oh well...we'll leave the rest up to the imagination.

Here's me and Debra at the football game on Saturday night! It was so much fun!

some pics from paradise...

I finally got BlogThis! to work...sorry for the delay of pictures! Here are just some of my favorites of our time up there with the family...

Here's Jason, wearing a silly hat...with his neck brace, arm sling, and all stitched up. He looks great considering what he's been through! Now he's got ladies swarming him, of course. Nice touch, Jason!
Making manicotti for dinner for everyone (about 30 people)! From L to R: Marissa (friend of the family), Shaun's Uncle Jim, me, and Shaun's Aunt Sue.
The set up for the Memorial service...it was beautiful! Flowers everywhere!
